Franklin Mint's Christmas Ingots

Beginning in 1970 and continuing through at least 1980, The Franklin Mint produced an annual Proof Sterling Silver Christmas Ingot of 1,000 grains fine silver (2.08 troy ounces). Beginning in 1974, a 500 grains (1.04 troy oz) ingot was added to the annual issues bearing the same design as the larger ingot. These ingots bear original works of art created exclusively for them.

Although some of these ingots were minted in large quantities by artbar standards, thousands of these were melted in the early eighties after silver hit $50 per ounce.

The first four issues were originally priced at $12.00 each, increased to $25 in 1974, rising from $30 to $37.50 over the next few years and $80 for the 1980 issue.

All of our ingots come in the case of issue and most have the COA. All are in mint condition unless otherwise noted.

In most cases, we only have one of each, so please do not order more than one of each.
