This America's Greatest Landmarks series
was issued by the Franklin Mint in 1971. This 20 piece collection
of 39mm. proof, sterling silver medals comes housed in the original
display case, but we do not have the supporting paperwork that
was issued with the set. The obverse of each medal depicts one
of the famous landmarks with a brief description of the landmark
on the reverse. The sterling silver medals weigh 33.5 grams each
and the whole set contains 20 troy ounces of pure silver. The
medals and case are in mint condition.
The landmarks honored include the Statue of Liberty,
the Alamo, Grand Canyon, St. Louis Arch, Old Faithful, Stone
Mountain and several others.
