2005 Marine Corps Commemorative Silver Dollar

The 2005 Marine Corps Silver Dollar commemorates the 230th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps. The obverse was designed by Norman E. Nemeth and features the image of United States Marines rasing the flag on Iwo Jima's Mt. Suribachi on February 23, 1945. The reverse, designed by Charles L. Vickers, depicts the Marine Corps emblem featuring an eagle, globe and anchor flanked by 13 stars and the Marine's motto "semper fidelis".

The silver dollar is minted in the traditional 90% silver composition and was minted in both Proof and Satin-finish uncirculated condition at the Philadelphia Mint. Total production was limited to 600,000 pieces in both finishes and in all packaging options.

The silver dollars were issued as Proof singles, Uncirculated singles, in Coin and Stamp Sets, and in the American Legacy Set (see below).

The entire mintage was sold out at the mint. River City Coins has a limited number of these Marine Corps dollars and options available so please do not order more than the number stated to be available.

These coins come complete, as issued, in original condition and with all pertinent boxes and paperwork.
